About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee and manage projects from initiation to completion
  • Plan, organize, and execute projects within defined timelines, budgets, and scope
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, set project objectives, and allocate resources
  • Manage project risks, resolve issues, and ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide system administration of the IMS, Microsoft Project Server, and Microsoft Project
  • Understand Project Server infrastructure and dependencies on the SharePoint farm; recommend and make approved changes
  • Implement, maintain, and manage planning tools and products
  • Conduct data and process quality assessments of planning products and prepare assessment reviews
  • Coordinate modeling and re-engineering of the Integrated Master Schedule and integrate the Integrated Master Plan/WBS into the IMS
  • Establish business rhythms for program control, analysis, and forecasting
  • Perform critical path and risk analyses using project management tools, network logic, and measurement methods
  • Review schedule and resource risks and issues with Service Owners and Project Managers; communicate impacts and propose corrective actions
  • Make hardware and software technical recommendations and assist with planning, design, and research for new or upgraded systems
  • Assist in developing departmental and Command-level SOPs and Desktop Procedure Manuals
  • Perform project management activities including planning, scheduling, reporting, organizing, coordinating, and directing internal resources
  • Use PMBOK terminology, guidelines, and principles in support of contractual obligations
  • Maintain a repository of enterprise-level and local-level projects and major deployment activities using the IMIT tracking page
  • Report near-real-time project status using current organizational tools
  • Aid in submitting Configuration Control Board documentation for hardware and software initiatives
  • Provide a Transition to Operations Plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred or five (5) plus years of related experience
  • Three (3) years of general computer systems experience
  • One (1) year must relate to principal duties and responsibilities
  • One year of Agile and SCRUM management is preferred
  • Experience managing complex, integrated work plans
  • Experience assembling technical documents and providing detailed analysis of various business system functions
  • Familiarity with DoD lifecycle management, DoDD 5000.1, DoDI 5000.02, and Defense Acquisition Guidebook
  • Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings and presentations
  • Ability to lead or contribute to the development of technical reports and procedures
  • Ability to lead a team of highly trained professionals to meet project requirements
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • PMP Certificate is preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
