About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets and evaluate their financial performance and strategic fit
  • Work independently as a specialist on complex technical and business matters
  • Analyze contract closeout metrics and canceling funds reports to identify areas for improvement in reporting and performance
  • Manually close old contracts ready for closeout and assist with preparing contracts for closeout
  • Train government staff on closeout processes and requirements
  • Create and update standard and ad-hoc reports for SSP, DCMA, DFAS, SECNAV, ASN(RDA), DASN(P), Congressional, and OSW data calls and reporting needs
  • Provide administrative support and records management for reporting and audits, including IV&V, NMCARS Reporting, IPMAP audits, and other ad hoc SSP local audits
  • Maintain a master schedule of reporting and audit deliverables and request, review, and consolidate accurate, verifiable inputs from SSP staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to obtain, maintain and access classified information at the Secret level
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • DAWIA Level I or equivalent in contracting, program management, or finance preferred
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS); NMCARS knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of contract closeout processes, PIEE applications, the EDA module, and data analytics
  • Technical skills such as Tableau, Advana/War Data Platform, MS Office, Navy Electronic Procurement System (ePS) or similar contract writing system, and Adobe Professional
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Department of War contract specialist (1102 job series) within the previous 10 years
