About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide financial planning workshops for approximately fifty Soldiers and Family Members on budgeting, debt management, insurance, and investing
  • Coordinate classroom setup, materials, and logistics for each workshop
  • Offer personalized financial counseling to transitioning Soldiers and their families
  • Help clients evaluate income and expenditures and create actionable financial goals
  • Address relocation, asset allocation, retirement, and debt management issues
  • Coordinate solutions with military and civilian agencies
  • Prepare monthly reports on financial planning activities, workshop attendance, and individual counseling sessions
  • Participate in workgroups and assist with Commanders reports
  • Notify clients of eligibility and missed requirements for VOW/CRS
  • Complete mandatory government training
  • Safeguard PII
  • Upload information into iPERMS
  • Participate in marketing activities and events as directed by the Contract Installation Manager
  • Interact with service members and employers in an on-site environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting, finance, or related field
  • A combination of education and experience amounting to 1,000 hours of experience in financial counseling
  • Must possess and maintain a nationally recognized and accredited Financial Counselor Certification in accordance with DoDI 1342.22
  • Proven experience in financial counseling
  • Ability to manage client caseloads and conduct group workshops and one-on-one sessions, face-to-face or virtually
  • Ability to generate training materials and coordinate workshops
  • Ability to manage classroom setup, including audio-visual requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills involving relocation, retirement, and debt management
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to security protocols regarding PII
  • Ability to complete mandatory government training
  • Ability to safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift materials up to twenty (20) lbs. when required
