About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process semimonthly payroll accurately and on time
  • Partner with Human Resources to review timecards and identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized
  • Help address questions related to pay, deductions, and pay stubs
  • Maintain organized payroll records and supporting documentation
  • Identify and escalate unusual adjustments, discrepancies, or unresolved payroll issues
  • Track and categorize company expenses, credit card transactions, and employee reimbursements
  • Collect, organize, and digitally maintain receipts and supporting documentation
  • Follow up on missing receipts and incomplete expense submissions
  • Ensure company purchases and reimbursements have complete supporting records
  • Identify coding or documentation discrepancies and route questions to Finance leadership
  • Enter approved expenses, bills, and transactions into QuickBooks Online
  • Assign expenses to appropriate accounts, classes, and projects
  • Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Help prepare basic financial reports and supporting schedules
  • Support month-end close by gathering documentation, reviewing transactions, and resolving routine discrepancies
  • Maintain clean, organized electronic records supporting internal review and audit readiness
  • Collaborate with Finance and Human Resources teams during scheduled working hours
  • Meet recurring Finance deadlines and maintain dependable availability during critical payroll-processing periods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Coursework or an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in payroll, bookkeeping, accounts payable, finance administration, or a related function preferred
  • Previous payroll-processing experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong numerical accuracy and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and follow-through
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate routine issues, and know when something needs to be escalated
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential payroll, banking, employee, and company financial information
  • Comfortable learning and working across payroll, HR, and electronic document-management systems
  • Must be available during business/working hours of central and mountain time zones
  • Reliable, professional remote workspace that allows focused work, effective communication, and protection of confidential information
