About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Patrol campus facilities and grounds to provide visible security coverage
Protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, students, faculty, visitors and others
Conduct incident and accident investigations
Complete written reports in accordance with department policies
Respond to alarms, security incidents and calls for service
Enforce parking regulations
Work closely with law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction
Operate DELJIS, Report Executive Records Management System, access control systems and other assigned technology

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associates degree or higher – Criminal Justice or related field or equivalent formal Law Enforcement training
One year Law Enforcement or Public Safety experience (Preferred)
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Current Driver's License
Prior Law enforcement experience preferred which will allow applicant to meet State Constable requirements
Candidate must maintain certifications in firearms, Taser, CPR accordance with departmental standards
Must be able to meet the requirements of Constable (State of Delaware): In accordance with Title 10, Chapter 27, and Section 2705 of the Delaware Code
Must work straight days or straight overnights, including weekends/holidays, according to a two-week rotating schedule
