About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all phases of CT scan testing on outpatients according to department procedures and protocols under Radiologist direction
- Perform other diagnostic imaging exams as skills permit
- Perform clerical and scheduling duties as needed
- Operate CT scanner units, radiology-supported computer systems, and CD burners
- Perform CT procedures and quality control according to department guidelines
- Complete assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures within designated scheduled times
- Enter accurate patient study information into clinical care systems
- Assist with workflow coordination and patient care activities
- Obtain clinical history and appropriate patient consent
- Verify insurance pre-authorization before scanning patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality and use two patient identifiers
- Assist students and new staff with department procedures, quality control, and radiation safety
- Work float locations including Smyrna, Middletown, Newark, and Helen Graham Cancer Center
- Work one Saturday every three months during the stated shifts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required through a two-year accredited program
- Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan required, achieved within two years of hire
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection required
- Completion of formal and/or on-the-job training on cross-sectional anatomy
- Associate’s degree required; candidates must obtain an Associate of Science degree, or substitute a related field, within three years of start date under a required Education Agreement
- CPR certification
- Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients
- Completion of IV training course
- Successful completion of the CT Registry exam; non-certified technologists have a two-year grace period following hire
- Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, ACR and state licenses, and Joint Commission regulations
