About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive sleep-focused medical histories and physical examinations
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests, including polysomnograms (PSGs), home sleep apnea testing (HSAT), and nocturnal oxygen saturation monitoring
- Develop and adjust individualized medical care plans for sleep apnea, insomnia, and narcolepsy
- Prescribe medical equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP and medications as allowed by state licensure
- Educate patients and families on sleep hygiene, illness prevention, and therapeutic device use
- Manage patient calls, evaluate acute problems, and coordinate follow-up care
- Serve as a resource for sleep care guidance across the health system
- Provide outpatient clinical care and virtual visits
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, physician assistant, nurse, and psychologist
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must hold a valid DE license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Must be board certified (ANCC/AANP for NPs & NCCPA for PAs)
- Prescriptive Authority
- DEA registration
- BLS required
- A minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred
