About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and collaborate with the Staff Development Specialist and Critical Care Coordinator to establish critical care practice guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Review and monitor respiratory care staff’s critical care skills
  • Oversee staff rotating to the specialty service area and provide feedback to management
  • Serve as a resource to respiratory therapists, nurses, and physicians regarding respiratory equipment and technology
  • Provide in-servicing as needed
  • Support research and process improvement initiatives
  • Engage with physicians in the specialty service area
  • Perform or assist with specialized procedures
  • Mentor respiratory therapists and serve as a clinical and professional leader at the bedside
  • Maintain current knowledge of treatment modalities, medical studies, trends, and practices
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of RT II
  • Follow safety practices and report unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or violations
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of a CoARC-approved School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Minimum of three years critical care experience required
  • Bachelor Degree required or actively enrolled in a degree program
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential
  • Experience as an intubator highly desired or willingness to become certified as one
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current AARC Membership preferred
  • Licensure in the State of Delaware required
  • Full-time flex schedule of 72 hours per pay period
  • Hours of 7:00am–7:00pm
  • Every 3rd weekend and holiday required
