About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead product planning for the Women’s and Kids’ categories.
- Ensure a balanced, profitable portfolio aligned with the brand strategy.
- Build and manage product plans by collection, category, line, and price range.
- Define the portfolio diversification strategy.
- Ensure a balance between core, newness, fashion, and high-risk products.
- Support decisions regarding the introduction, continuation, and discontinuation of categories and products.
- Ensure adherence to the collection development and launch calendar.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Define the buying strategy for each collection in collaboration with partner teams.
- Plan and control OTB by category and period.
- Assess buying risks based on sales history, trends, production capacity, and the fashion calendar.
- Monitor lead times, receipts, and buying adjustments.
- Monitor performance by SKU, category, collection, and price range.
- Analyze sell-in, sell-out, margin, stock turn, stock coverage, and markdown.
- Identify opportunities to increase, reduce, or replace products.
- Generate insights for planning future collections.
- Lead and develop product planning analysts.
- Establish routines for monitoring the product life cycle.
- Enhance planning tools, reports, and methodologies.
- Promote data-driven decision-making.
- Work cross-functionally with Design, Buying, and Commercial teams.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Postgraduate degree or MBA in Business Management, Fashion, or Strategy is a plus.
- Solid experience in product planning or merchandising.
- Direct experience with portfolio diversification, line planning, and buying strategy.
- Knowledge of product planning and collection architecture.
- Knowledge of buying strategy and supplier negotiations.
- Knowledge of product and retail KPIs, including margin, stock turn, stock coverage, and markdown.
- Knowledge of OTB and inventory management.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
