About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide competent technical and clinical services and flex daily needs based on CCHMC policy, best practice guidelines, and department needs
- Assist care providers with procedures and physical examinations
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment
- Provide family-centered, culturally competent, and responsive care
- Support patients and families as partners in decisions regarding care
- Advocate for customers and respond to parent requests and concerns
- Provide education and information to patients and families
- Collaborate with peers and colleagues to resolve problems and achieve goals
- Share knowledge and support team members
- Manage records and collect data according to department policy
- Obtain consent and release-of-information forms when indicated
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information
- Perform accurate data entry and document management
- Manage specimens per protocols
- Retrieve test results and communicate normal lab results as appropriately delegated
- Perform delegated clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a nurse or licensed physician
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a program in Medical Assisting and no directly related experience, or completion of a formal medical services training program of the US armed forces, or 1 year of work experience in a related job discipline
- Required training, education, and demonstration of clinical competency
- Ability to perform delegated clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a nurse or licensed physician
- Ability to provide competent technical and clinical services according to CCHMC policy, best practice guidelines, and department needs
- Ability to manage specimens per protocols and maintain knowledge of routine testing processes
- Ability to accurately perform data entry and document management
