About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide competent technical and clinical services based on CCHMC policy, best practice guidelines, and department needs
  • Assist care providers with procedures and physical examinations
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment
  • Provide family-centered, culturally competent, and responsive patient care
  • Act as a customer advocate and respond to parent requests and concerns
  • Provide appropriate education and information to patients and families

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of a program in Medical Assisting and no directly related experience, or completion of a formal medical services training program of the US armed forces, or 1 year of work experience in a related job discipline
  • Required training, education, and demonstration of clinical competency
  • Ability to perform delegated clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a nurse or licensed physician
  • Ability to manage specimens per protocols and perform routine testing processes
  • Ability to maintain accurate patient records, data entry, and document management
