About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build AI solutions and agents end to end, including graphs, tools, MCP servers, and supporting services, from design through production and iteration
- Practice context management, prompt design, plan construction, tool result shaping, and guardrails
- Build and maintain evaluation sets and regression suites
- Investigate agent failures down to the step that caused them
- Work directly with domain experts to collect practitioner questions, map them to capabilities, and resolve ambiguity
- Debug from traces by reproducing, isolating, and fixing issues, then adding regression tests
- Automate the development loop using commands, hooks, and subagents
- Move decisions forward with working prototypes
- Work in small pods alongside an architect and domain experts, owning engineering decisions and delivery outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Track record of building and shipping agentic systems that reached real users
- Deep practical experience with context management, prompting, plan generation, structured outputs, and tool design
- Strong Python skills
- Productive in an unfamiliar codebase quickly
- Experience running agentic workloads on a major cloud platform
- Fluent daily use of agentic coding tools; Claude Code preferred
- Clear written communication under time pressure
- Demonstrated self-direction
- Production experience across multiple model families preferred
- Working TypeScript and solid SQL preferred
- Front-end capability with React, TypeScript, and CopilotKit or similar preferred
- Data engineering on large transactional datasets preferred
- Evaluation and observability tooling experience preferred
- Contributions to agent frameworks or MCP servers preferred
- Successful completion of a background check may be required
