About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide finance support and expertise for hospital Senior Management Teams
Drive understanding of operational and financial performance, including KPIs, trends, revenue, costs and EBITDAR
Ensure compliance with CHG financial control policies, including approval and authority limits
Manage costs and within-hospital working capital using a disciplined and consistent approach
Ensure business development and capital proposals include rigorous financial appraisals
Lead hospital financial planning and monitoring
Provide financial guidance and ad hoc training to Senior Management Teams and Heads of Department
Lead quality and consistency of financial processes and analysis within hospitals
Ensure accurate use of charts of accounts and department/cost centre structures
Influence high-quality processes and attention to detail across the hospital, including patient administration
Complete all relevant mandatory training

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience in senior finance role
Experience of multi-site or otherwise distributed working environments, with local profit and loss responsibility
Demonstrated experience in managing change successfully within the finance function
Strong technology skills, including computerised financial systems and Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to quickly appraise complex situations and to identify key issues
Formal finance qualification
Ability to work 37.5 hours per week and cover a flexible shift pattern
Compliance with all relevant mandatory training
