Key responsibilities & impact
  • Directly supervise activities of 2 or more full-time employees, including Assistant Managers, Lead Representatives and Customer Service Representatives
  • Recruit, hire and train positive, enthusiastic employees
  • Assign tasks to keep the store clean, stocked, organized and well-kept according to company standards
  • Schedule employees according to company guidelines and business needs
  • Apply non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating and separating employees
  • Develop positive relationships with suppliers
  • Promote excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly
  • Maintain regular and predictable onsite attendance
  • Promote and ensure a safe, positive public image in the neighboring community
  • Prepare ongoing performance appraisals in Workday, including 30-, 60- and 90-day, 12-month and anniversary check-ins
  • Train employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, safety procedures and cash awareness
  • Ensure employees complete required training on time
  • Establish ongoing communication meetings with store employees and the Market Manager
  • Evaluate store needs and develop action plans to reach objectives
  • Organize and maintain store files and manuals
  • Ensure required reports are completed accurately and on time
  • Ensure merchandise is stocked, attractively displayed and correctly priced
  • Ensure employment-related posters and signs are accessible
  • Analyze daily sales and expense information to maximize sales and net profits
  • Budget and forecast P&L lines and manage merchandise margins
  • Safeguard and account for money received and disbursed
  • Perform financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits
  • Notify the Market Manager of sales, cash, inventory or operating discrepancies
  • Work approximately 95% indoors while cleaning parking lots, gas pumps and taking out garbage
  • Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 1 to 2 years of retail work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience preferred
  • Ability to supervise and train employees in the use of equipment, tools and materials listed in CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions
  • Ability to supervise and manage functions listed in CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions
  • Ability to use a computer or acquire necessary computer skills for reports, inventory control, cash control and employment-related forms
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Open availability
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions
  • Ability to work in the described conditions
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Food Server certificate (e.g. ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required
  • Ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead occasionally
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist occasionally
  • Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for the entire shift
  • Ability to push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds of force
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, squat, push and pull
  • Ability to work alone and with occasional noise
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
  • May require climbing a ladder
