About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Troubleshoot, repair, clean and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, cleaning and lighting maintenance on facilities
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs among work teams
  • Examine records, reports, operating practices and documentation to ensure cost-effective preventative repairs
  • Participate in training classes for existing and new equipment
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce maintenance program, operational policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, personal networks and professional societies
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following safety policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements
  • Accomplish financial and key result area targets pursuant to company plan guidelines
  • Work independently with periodic supervision

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
  • 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance field or more preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in plumbing or HVAC/refrigeration preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and insurability as a driver
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities and independently
  • Highly organized and able to work under pressure/deadlines and multi-task
  • Computer literacy in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to sit for long periods and operate a computer keyboard and mouse
  • Ability to view a computer monitor and hear and speak via telephone
  • Ability to reach forward and/or overhead
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, carry, erect and climb ladders
  • Ability to work with minimum direction and periodic supervision
