About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a technical sales professional and trusted technical advisor for Cisco customers and partners
- Provide technical solutions addressing customer and partner business needs
- Collaborate with Account Executives and aligned Architecture AEs on customer plans
- Demonstrate Cisco portfolio knowledge and increase penetration through cross-selling, upselling, and competitive displacement
- Lead the technical relationship with customers and partners
- Engage IT decision-makers and lines of business
- Translate customer and partner needs into technical requirements
- Spend most selling time landing opportunities and expanding within accounts
- Participate in territory strategic planning
- Provide feedback to sales teams on customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive tactics
- Move deals through the technical sales process
- Design and communicate solutions based on technical and business requirements
- Manage a virtual support team of sales resources
- Leverage tools and resources to support deals
- Achieve technical closure
- Increase revenue, displace competitors, grow market share, and increase net-new customers quarterly
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years experience selling or supporting security, networking, compute, and/or collaboration solutions
- CCNA-level understanding or background in campus network design, including switching, wireless, and routing
- 2+ years translating sophisticated technical concepts into business value
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance
- 2 years supporting the Defense Health Agency
- 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales engineering or technical pre-sales role (preferred)
- Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCIE certification (preferred)
- Proven track record of success in technical sales or solutions engineering roles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Cisco’s commercial market and customer base
- Ability to engage effectively with customers and partners
