About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and implement qualification plans for passive, discrete, and logic components
  • Lead root cause analysis initiatives for technical issues and identify failure mechanisms
  • Manage supplier technology roadmaps to align with business needs and strengthen supply chain resiliency
  • Collaborate with business units and global suppliers to influence design decisions and mitigate lifecycle risks
  • Apply reliability modeling and validation techniques to maintain and improve Cisco reliability benchmarks
  • Proactively manage the lifecycle and quality of passive, discrete, and logic components
  • Bridge design requirements and global supply chain resiliency
  • Deliver systemic quality improvements and support integration of high-performance parts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 6+ years of professional experience in capacitor, transistor, diode, and resistor component engineering, quality, or reliability in networking, server, and/or optical transceiver industries
  • Strong understanding of passive, discrete, and logic component technologies and applications
  • Experience defining and implementing component-level reliability qualification programs
  • Experience with accelerated stress testing, including THB, HAST, TC, and HTOL
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, risks, and trade-offs to diverse audiences
  • Experience leading global supplier technical engagements, supplier site audits, technology roadmap alignment, and systemic quality management
  • Proficiency in reliability modeling, lifetime prediction, failure analysis, and statistical data analysis
  • Understanding of application-level design, derating methodologies, electrical stress analysis, and mechanical reliability
  • Expertise in component reliability challenges for high-density AI infrastructure and high-speed optical networking
  • Familiarity with IEC, JEDEC, EIA, and IPC manufacturing standards and regulatory compliance requirements
