About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a senior technical authority and trusted advisor for enterprise, service provider, and public sector clients across Italy and Southern Europe
Lead end-to-end planning, HLD, LLD, staging, deployment, and Day-2 acceptance testing for Cisco Data Center network environments
Design, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco ACI controller clusters, multi-tenancy models, VRFs, BDs, ANPs, EPGs, Contracts, and micro-segmentation policies
Deploy ACI Multi-Pod, Multi-Site Orchestrator, Remote Leaf, and standalone Nexus VXLAN EVPN fabrics
Develop migration architectures, MOP documentation, and contingency fallback plans for transitioning legacy environments into programmable ACI/VXLAN fabrics
Balance remote/virtual delivery with scheduled onsite engagements at customer data centers, client briefing centers, and Cisco offices in Rome and Milan
Establish trusted advisor relationships with Chief Architects, IT Directors, and NetOps teams
Build and integrate network automation using Python, Ansible ACI modules, Terraform ACI Provider, and REST APIs
Architect Layer 4–7 service integration and security service chaining with firewalls and load balancers via ACI Service Graphs, L2Out, and L3Out
Provide technical oversight and peer review of HLD and LLD designs
Coach and mentor junior and mid-level consulting engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent technical background
8+ years of hands-on professional services or network consulting experience in enterprise/service provider Data Center environments
Active Cisco CCIE Data Center or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure / Routing & Switching certification, or equivalent validated expert-level industry mastery
Expert knowledge of Cisco ACI fabric design, Spine-Leaf topologies, APIC controller cluster management, tenant isolation, VRF routing, BDs, EPGs, Contracts, Micro-segmentation, ACI Multi-Pod, and Multi-Site
Extensive hands-on configuration of Cisco Nexus 9000, 7000, and 5000 switches running NX-OS
In-depth mastery of VXLAN overlays with BGP EVPN control plane, distributed anycast gateways, Symmetric IRB, and DCI
Advanced proficiency with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Segment Routing, vPC, STP, QoS, Multicast, and Layer 2/3 encapsulation
Practical experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard, Nexus Dashboard Insights, Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller, and Network Assurance Engine
Fluency in Italian
Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal, required for customer-facing engagements
Preferred: Python, Ansible, Terraform ACI provider, Postman, Git, RESTful APIs, JSON/XML
Preferred: hybrid cloud integrations, VMware vSphere/VDS with ACI, and Kubernetes/OpenShift CNI
Preferred: analytical, presentation, and technical writing skills
