About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide domain-wide and cross-domain architectural leadership for high-stakes, multi-site data center transformations and migrations
  • Advise senior customer executives as a trusted advisor
  • Lead planning, design, and deployment of Cisco ACI and NX-OS EVPN-VXLAN data center switching fabrics
  • Develop and scale Services-as-Code/NetDevOps pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Python, GitOps, and Nexus Dashboard APIs
  • Design and use advanced data center simulation environments
  • Serve as the highest technical escalation authority for critical fabric outages, BGP EVPN routing anomalies, and fabric upgrade strategies
  • Partner with CX Product Management and Engineering to influence Cisco product roadmaps
  • Address emerging AI/ML workload requirements, including RoCEv2 and Ultra Ethernet
  • Author global reference architectures, Cisco Validated Designs, and ACI/VXLAN migration frameworks
  • Mentor senior consulting engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 8+ years of related experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience; or equivalent related practical work experience
  • 6+ years of experience leading complex, large-scale data center architectural consulting, design, migration, and delivery projects for Enterprise clients
  • 6+ years of deep technical mastery in Cisco Data Center switching architectures
  • Expertise in Cisco ACI, including APIC, Leaf-Spine topology, Multi-Pod, Multi-Site Orchestrator/NDO, Contracts, EPGs, VRFs, and Bridge Domains
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus 9000/3000 switches running NX-OS
  • 6+ years of advanced expertise in BGP EVPN, VXLAN Distributed Anycast Gateway, TRM, DCI, OSPF, IS-IS, and Multi-Chassis EtherChannel/vPC
  • Cisco CCIE Data Center, CCDE, CCIE Routing & Switching, or equivalent recognized expert-level credential
  • Advanced expertise in Terraform, Ansible ACI modules, Python, ACI REST API, Cobra SDK, and CI/CD GitOps pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller, Nexus Dashboard Insights, and telemetry analytics
  • Experience designing AI/ML data center fabrics using RoCEv2, PFC, and ECN
  • Proven track record advising C-level executives on data center consolidation, hybrid-cloud connectivity, and disaster recovery
  • History of publishing technical white papers, authoring Cisco Validated Designs, and delivering technical sessions
