About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect and deploy systems for real-time AI workload management, including model routing and latency reduction
  • Research and implement token compression, batch capacity, and fine-tuning strategies to maximize model-garden ROI
  • Build automated regression and validation pipelines for AI agents
  • Ensure AI-generated code is production-ready, secure, and reliable
  • Introduce agentic capabilities to bring business applications to the Circuit platform
  • Act as a Team Captain for specific features
  • Drive consensus among multifunctional teams and mentor peers
  • Own features from research and design through production deployment, security, monitoring, and post-mortem analysis
  • Optimize the performance, capabilities, and cost efficiency of Cisco’s Circuit platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree + 6 years of related experience, or Master’s + 4 years, or PhD + 1 year, in Computer Science or a highly technical field
  • Experience deploying and maintaining scalable software systems in a production environment
  • Hands-on expertise with AI/ML systems, including model fine-tuning, RAG, or agentic frameworks
  • Ability to evaluate trade-offs between cost, quality, and performance
  • Strong software engineering foundation
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code, lead code reviews, and implement automated testing and regression/CI/CD
  • Track record of leading projects from initial concept through deployment and managing the production lifecycle
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to evaluate and document technical trade-offs
  • Experience with real-time AI workload management and custom LLM fine-tuning
  • Expertise using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot while enforcing security standards
  • Experience building and productizing agentic applications with focus on evaluation and business acceptance
  • Experience elevating team technical proficiency through formal and informal knowledge sharing
