About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical direction and business guidance to the Region sales team
  • Drive revenue through account planning, resource planning, and allocation
  • Develop and maintain a team of high-performing Solutions Engineers
  • Improve team performance through creative programs and day-to-day leadership
  • Lead and grow SE team talent
  • Build territory plans using SE feedback and market-demand knowledge
  • Create technical resource plans and prioritize opportunities with the Regional Sales Leader
  • Review quantitative information to identify and explain trends
  • Establish team capacity, improve performance, and align resources to deliver commitments
  • Lead technical account strategies aligned with customer requirements and goals
  • Assign resources appropriately and assist with qualified partner identification
  • Monitor and approve customer-focused pre-sales resource requests
  • Track and report team metrics for opportunities
  • Monitor team progress against the business plan and recommend changes
  • Interact with business units to support the local region
  • Lead multifunctional projects
  • Facilitate communication of customer requirements between customers, corporate, and field teams
  • Advocate for continual improvement in customer experience and Cisco brand loyalty
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and improve customer experiences in the assigned territory

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in technical sales or Solutions Engineering roles
  • Experience collaborating with sales and customer-facing teams to drive business results
  • B.S. degree in a technical-related field or equivalent experience
  • Leadership or team lead experience preferred
  • Practical experience integrating AI tools, automation scripts, and digital collaboration platforms preferred
  • Experience developing local knowledge of business economics, industry trends, and vertical markets preferred
  • Advanced understanding of internetworking industry trends, products, and solutions preferred
  • Ability to articulate trade-offs between Cisco and competitor products preferred
  • Experience driving account and resource planning for a region preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with Regional Manager to track plans and course-correct preferred
  • Ability to communicate a clear account vision and strategy preferred
  • Understanding and application of standard methodologies and tools preferred
  • Experience building team capabilities and talent pipelines preferred
  • Executive communication and presentation skills preferred
  • Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area
