About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid network lab environments combining physical hardware and virtual network topologies using Cisco Modeling Labs (CML).
- Integrate, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco enterprise and Data Center products, including SD-WAN components, Catalyst and Nexus switches, MDS storage switches, firewalls, and third-party devices and virtual network functions.
- Architect and simulate multi-tenant WAN, campus, branch, and Data Center fabrics with overlay networks, secure segmentation, application-aware routing, VXLAN/EVPN, and Data Center bridging and switching architectures.
- Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure, and QA teams to support reproducible test scenarios, CI/CD pipelines, and network automation use cases.
- Optimise lab capacity, performance, resource allocation, and virtualisation nodes for high availability, low-latency emulation, and efficient testing-topology utilisation.
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless campus and branch networks, SD-WAN connectivity, BGP and OSPF routing, Data Center switching fabrics, and virtualisation issues; ensure timely resolution and comprehensive documentation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Networking, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional experience in network engineering, lab management, or infrastructure operations; the required number of years is not specified.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Modeling Labs (CML) or similar network emulation and simulation platforms.
- Experience with Cisco enterprise networking and Data Center technologies, including Catalyst switches and routers, Nexus switches, MDS storage switches, firewalls, and Cisco SD-WAN components.
- Hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF, SD-WAN overlay/underlay connectivity, network segmentation, VXLAN/EVPN, and Data Center bridging and switching.
- Experience designing and managing hybrid network labs comprising physical devices, virtual network topologies, and third-party network platforms.
- Familiarity with network automation, CI/CD pipelines, software testing, and validation workflows.
