About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the integration of Splunk Enterprise Security with Cisco Data Fabric
  • Define and drive product and technical vision tied to lower ingest and storage cost, faster time to value, and sustained detection efficacy
  • Design and deliver data flow, ingestion, and access patterns for detection, investigation, threat hunting, and response across tiered and federated data
  • Develop capabilities to tier, route, filter, and reduce data based on security value
  • Simplify onboarding, data source configuration, normalization, and routing for core security use cases
  • Lead joint roadmaps, technical design reviews, and sprint alignment across Splunk, Cisco Data Fabric, and partner engineering teams
  • Translate customer and analyst requirements into prioritized product capabilities
  • Represent the product to customers, field teams, partners, and senior leadership
  • Bring customer and market insight back into the roadmap

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience, or Master's/PhD with 8+ years of related experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, including security operations
  • Product management or business line ownership experience in enterprise software or security
  • Experience designing and maintaining large-scale distributed data systems or SIEM architectures
  • Some experience with Splunk Enterprise Security and security operations data lifecycles
  • Strong understanding of SOC workflows and SOC personas
  • Current knowledge of evolving attacker tradecraft, including identity-based, cloud, and ransomware attacks
  • Understanding of detection development, tuning, maintenance, and the effects of data filtering or tiering on detection efficacy
  • Experience with security data pipelines, including collection, normalization, routing, and retention
  • Experience with cloud-native streaming such as Kafka and Kinesis
  • Familiarity with data models such as CIM and OCSF
  • Understanding of federated search and storage economics
  • Familiarity with Cisco networking and security data architectures, including Cisco Data Fabric
  • Regular direct engagement with SOC practitioners and security leaders
  • Executive presence and ability to lead across complex organizations and third-party partners
  • Ability to explain technical and economic tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences
