About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and deliver secure, scalable Automation and Response capabilities
  • Help customers investigate and respond to security events across cloud and enterprise environments
  • Own complex features from design and implementation through release readiness and production support
  • Build observable, reliable, supportable, and safely deployable systems
  • Resolve customer escalations and security issues
  • Use AI-assisted development and automation to accelerate engineering, strengthen testing, and improve troubleshooting
  • Guide technical decisions and mentor other engineers
  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams
  • Participate in rotating on-call duties to diagnose production escalations and issues
  • Develop solutions for production problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of related experience, or Master’s degree plus 4 years of related experience, or PhD plus 2 years of related experience
  • Applied programming experience in Python, Go, or C++
  • Experience designing, delivering, and supporting reliable production software, including cloud services
  • Background with distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and performance troubleshooting
  • Experience with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and delivery models such as Docker, containers, and Kubernetes
  • Candidates located in the San Jose, CA or San Francisco, CA areas are requested to work onsite a few days a week
  • Preferred: experience with Django, Flask, JavaScript, or React
  • Preferred: familiarity with security operations, SIEM, Automation and Response, or Splunk integrations
  • Preferred: experience with Linux systems, networking, or enterprise software deployment
  • Preferred: familiarity with FedRAMP, SOC 2, or FIPS
  • Preferred: ability to autonomously own complex technical initiatives and design decisions while partnering with engineers and product managers
