Develop software consistent with Cisco Design Thinking Principles, focusing on simplification and user experience
Use secure coding practices and ensure user privacy
Follow software development standard methodologies
Partner with design, product management, and other teams to create customer solutions
Create technical design documentation and contribute to end-user documentation
Debug and address software issues during development and in production systems
Bring new ideas for product innovation and improve software development processes
Lead projects and medium-sized features from technical design through completion
Contribute to software engineering roadmaps
Recommend improvements to the software development lifecycle and agile engineering methodologies
Design and deliver high-quality features and deliverables
Identify opportunities for multiple products to work together to create customer value
Track product-related metrics, market awareness, adoption, and competition
Write clean code and unit tests
Fix complex errors, raise risks, and identify issues through code reviews
Test and review code to optimize scale, velocity, and reliability
Contribute to threat modeling
Monitor production environments and track production systems cross-functionally
Serve as an escalation point for on-call issues
Lead postmortems and write root cause analyses
Share knowledge across teams through presentations, blogs, newsletters, and informal communication
Coordinate across teams to estimate timelines and complete projects according to specifications and user requirements
Track progress, provide updates, and create remediation plans
Mentor peers and junior team members
Support engineers through code reviews, documentation, and technical guidance

Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of related experience, OR Master's degree plus 4 years of related experience, OR PhD plus 1 year of related experience
Solid conceptual and practical knowledge in the primary technical job family
