Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain critical software and tools for Cisco’s core products
  • Support hardware compatibility, network performance, and security
  • Work with operating systems, firmware, networking stacks, and security infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Meet one of the following, completed within the past 3 years or expected within the next 12 months: Bachelor’s degree with 0 years of work experience; or an educational/workforce development program such as Associate’s, Apprenticeship, Boot camp, or Certification with 1 year of work experience; or high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of work experience
  • Qualifying education and work experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proficiency in C programming
  • Experience working in embedded Linux environments
  • Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of core networking principles, routing protocols, and general network architecture concepts
  • Hands-on experience developing automation scripts such as Python or Bash
  • Experience utilizing CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Experience applying DevSecOps practices within software workflows
  • Conceptual understanding or hands-on experience with AI/ML
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and security protocols
  • Experience with FPGA development
  • Knowledge of signal and power integrity and PCB design
