Design, build, and ship APIs and applications powering Cisco platforms
Write clean, maintainable back-end code
Design RESTful services and distributed architectures alongside the team

Participate in a 12-week summer internship embedded within high-impact Cisco Product Organization teams
Engage in targeted learning sessions, multifunctional networking, and direct engagement with organizational leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (Associate's or Bachelor's) with 2 years of work experience, or a Master’s degree program with 0 years of work experience
Qualifying education and work experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
Expected to continue enrollment in the degree program after completing the internship
Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go
Experience building or supporting software applications or services, including APIs
Familiarity with Git, Linux, and core software engineering workflows, tools, and development environments
Preferred: proficiency in two or more of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, or React
Preferred: awareness of UI/UX principles
Preferred: experience applying Object-Oriented Programming principles, with exposure to C/C++ or JavaScript
Preferred: hands-on experience with RESTful services, distributed systems, or microservices
Preferred: exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, or Kubernetes
Preferred: exposure to networking fundamentals, cloud security, or DevOps/DevSecOps practices
