About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set technical direction for a hosted cloud data ingestion platform
  • Design, build, and evolve Go-based cloud services and platform components on Kubernetes
  • Balance scale, cost, reliability, and operability in cloud-native architecture
  • Protect customer data through secure credential handling, reliable processing, failure recovery, and operational controls
  • Own production quality for a multi-region ingestion platform
  • Improve observability, capacity planning, on-call operations, incident response, automated testing, and operational guardrails
  • Accelerate engineering teams’ addition of new data sources through reusable platform patterns, test frameworks, release processes, and readiness standards
  • Partner with Product, cloud infrastructure, security, compliance, support, and field teams
  • Mentor engineers across levels
  • Lead design and code reviews
  • Communicate platform tradeoffs, risks, and progress to engineering leadership, product stakeholders, and partner teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Ownership of production cloud services or distributed data systems
  • 3+ years of professional Go/Golang development experience required
  • Experience designing and building scalable distributed cloud-native architectures for SaaS or data platforms
  • Knowledge of throughput, latency, resilience, cost, and operability considerations
  • Experience with distributed systems fundamentals, including concurrency, state management, leader election, scheduling, fault tolerance, retries, and eventual consistency
  • Hands-on experience building and operating containerized services on Kubernetes
  • Experience with CI/CD, observability, security, on-call participation, and production support
  • Ability to drive architecture, execution, and technical decision-making in ambiguous, high-impact areas
  • Experience leading engineers through complex projects from design through production ownership
  • Experience with high-volume data ingestion, event processing, streaming systems, queues, or connector frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
