About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a technical strategist for SLED customers across K12, higher education, and local government
  • Understand customer business and technical needs, challenges, and opportunities
  • Develop technical strategies positioning Cisco solutions to address customer needs
  • Design and implement solutions using Cisco’s networking, security, collaboration, and cloud portfolio
  • Work with partners, architecture teams, and the CX organization to support solution adoption and optimization
  • Partner with the Account Manager to build pipeline through discovery, demonstrations, and value-focused deliverables
  • Build and maintain customer relationships through regular in-person meetings and non-transactional touchpoints
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitive strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in a customer-facing, field-sales engineering role or network engineering role
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Cisco technologies, including networking, security, collaboration, or cloud solutions
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas
  • Preferred: CCNP/CCDP or similar vendor certification
  • Preferred: Understanding of SDN, AI/ML, DevOps, and cloud solutions including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Preferred: Proficiency with Python, RESTCONF, NETCONF, YANG Suite, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with IOS-XE, Firepower, Meraki, NX-OS, ACI, and NDFC
  • Preferred: Strong technical presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives
