About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and own commodity strategy for Optics
- Enable and manage the supply base
- Manage quarterly negotiations of component costs and lead times
- Benchmark the industry to ensure competitive value to Cisco
- Manage supplier relationships across technical, commercial, contractual, delivery, and quality matters
- Negotiate and execute MPAs, MOUs, VMI agreements, legal settlements, and other agreements
- Identify and track market indicators and anticipate market trends and transitions
- Collaborate with Supply Base, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Legal
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to execute Cisco's strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS in Business, Engineering and etc.; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of cross functional Supply Chain experience
- Excellent skills in supplier management, and contracts review and management
- Ability to develop and execute short, mid, and long term strategies
- Expertise in building strong relationships internally and externally, and conflict resolution
- Adept at influencing decisions and developing solutions to complex business situations
- Strong experience with collaboration, communications, negotiations, facilitation and change management
- Ability to work across boundaries, earning trust, taking risk and being inclusive is highly valued
- Experience in Optics is preferred
- Travel to visit suppliers and to the Cisco HQ in the US
