About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop internal software tools, services, and frameworks that improve developer experience, including custom CLI tools, development environment enhancements, and test automation frameworks.
  • Work with engineering teams to gather requirements and feedback for developer tools, then iterate on solutions.
  • Improve and maintain CI/CD pipeline code and infrastructure to make build and deployment processes efficient, reliable, and scalable.
  • Contribute to the architecture of the developer platform by evaluating technologies and integrating open-source solutions.
  • Mentor and guide software engineers in using DevX tools and adopting best practices for efficient software delivery.
  • Ensure DevX solutions are documented, maintainable, and secure; participate in code reviews and design discussions.
  • Partner with engineering teams to define and enforce AI standards within the developer ecosystem for consistent, scalable, and secure AI adoption.
  • Report to the DevX Manager (Observability & DevX).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7–10 years' experience in Software Engineering or DevOps roles, with a focus on building developer tooling or platforms.
  • Expert programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Go, or C#.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and build/release processes, including Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Proficiency with containerization and cloud infrastructure, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach, with experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.
  • Contributions to open-source developer tools or active involvement in the developer community (preferred, not essential).
  • Experience with developer experience platforms or tools such as Backstage or Atlassian suite (a plus).
