Key responsibilities & impact

Manage one or more Applications Development teams and conduct personnel duties, including performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions
Provide technical oversight across systems and applications
Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
Contribute to strategies for applications development and other functional areas
Develop knowledge of how business areas integrate to accomplish business goals
Provide evaluative judgment in complicated and unique situations
Monitor delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handle staff management, resource management, and work allocation
Ensure procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
Negotiate with external parties when necessary
Assess risk, drive compliance, safeguard the firm and its assets, and supervise activities with accountability
Design, develop, implement, and support high-volume, high-availability application systems
Lead application development and technical analysis; develop front-end and back-end components
Manage applications and databases; improve performance and resiliency
Provide production support and root-cause analysis
Manage CI/testing, source code, and deployments
Analyze requirements, create technical designs, plan sprints, and coordinate with business and technology stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
Experience as Applications Development Manager
Experience as senior level in an Applications Development role
Stakeholder and people management experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
Proven project management skills
Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
