About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze Credit Risk Management, Liquidity Management, and related data sets, including data sourced from front office trade capture systems and reference data sources
  • Gather operational data from cross-functional stakeholders to examine past business performance
  • Identify data patterns and trends
  • Provide insights to enhance business decision-making in business planning, process improvement, and solution assessment
  • Collaborate with technology teams to design and deliver remediation solutions for data issues
  • Discuss data requirements and the impact of data issues with data consumers, as raised in the DCRM tool
  • Perform administrative updates of Data Concerns within the DCRM tool
  • Recommend actions to support future developments and strategic business opportunities
  • Recommend enhancements to operational policies based on data findings
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis, and/or qualitative analysis
  • Translate data into consumer or customer behavioral insights to drive targeting and segmentation strategies
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leaders
  • Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities
  • Work closely with internal and external business partners to build, implement, track, and improve decision strategies
  • Assess risk in business decisions, considering the firm's reputation
  • Safeguard Citigroup, its clients, and its assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Adhere to Citi policy and apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal conduct and business practices
  • Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency
  • Take on informal or formal leadership responsibilities and coach junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-5 years' experience performing data analytics with financial markets data and products
  • At least 1 year of experience in SQL or Python scripting
  • Hands-on experience leveraging Excel, Tableau, SQL and Python to perform data analysis
  • Understanding of how firms manage Credit and Market Risk for trading book activity
  • Knowledge of financial markets structure and products, including over-the-counter derivatives, securities financing transactions, exchange-traded derivatives and cash trading
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and able to demonstrate a firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques
  • Data tracing, data mining, visualization, analysis, identifying patterns/trends, exploratory data analysis, root cause analysis, machine learning and predictive analytics
  • Experience interacting across multiple teams globally and influencing diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering results quickly and efficiently
  • Prior experience with a focus in financial services analytics
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present to business partners and/or leaders to gain approvals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully both as a self-starter and successfully within a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience
  • Master's degree preferred
