About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and drive the quality engineering strategy for Citi's Helios wholesale credit risk platform
- Lead and grow a global, cross-regional team of SDETs, automation engineers, manual testers, and test leads across NAM, EMEA, and APAC
- Define career paths, performance goals, and skills-uplift programs
- Own headcount planning, budget management, and vendor/contractor transition
- Serve as senior QE voice in governance forums, steering committees, and senior technology reviews
- Own the end-to-end test automation roadmap across API, UI, integration, and E2E suites on Citi's FAST infrastructure
- Drive regression automation toward 90%+ coverage and reduce manual testing backlog and regression cycle times
- Establish test data management, environment stability, and production-representative data strategies
- Oversee migration of test management and reporting tools, including Zephyr to Octane
- Drive GenAI adoption for test generation, code/test review, agentic testing, and defect triage
- Define governance and quality guardrails for AI-generated test artifacts
- Pilot and scale GenAI testing solutions to improve speed, quality, and cost
- Own quality KPIs, reporting cadence, traceability, and PRB-to-test-case mapping
- Present testing health, risk, and roadmap progress to senior technology, business, and risk/control stakeholders
- Partner with Development, SRE, Product, Business Analysis, Architecture, and Engineering teams to embed quality earlier in the SDLC
- Lead the transition to a target operating model where development owns integration testing and QE focuses on E2E, governance, tooling, and automation excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years of relevant experience
- 12+ years of progressive experience in software testing, test automation, and software development, including significant hands-on technical experience
- 10+ years leading global, multi-region testing/QE teams, including direct employees and vendor/contractor resources
- 10+ years driving large-scale test automation transformations
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber/Gherkin, Playwright with TypeScript, and Selenium
- Experience with Zephyr, Octane, or equivalent enterprise test management tooling
- Experience with CI/CD and large-scale test execution infrastructure such as FAST
- Direct experience piloting or scaling GenAI/AI-based tooling in software development or testing
- Financial services, capital markets, or credit risk technology experience strongly preferred
- Experience with defect/problem management, root-cause analysis, defect taxonomy, and linking production incidents/problems to test coverage
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline required
- Ability to engage credibly with engineers on architecture, code, automation frameworks, and AI tooling
- Proven change leadership and experience driving transformation against resistance and budget constraints
- Experience owning and presenting quality metrics/KPIs
- Experience managing distributed, multicultural teams across NAM/EMEA/APAC
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Preferred: regulated banking/financial institution technology experience, cloud-native test environments, TCoE experience, and certifications in test automation, Agile/Scrum leadership, or AI/ML fundamentals
