About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test strategies
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver in Java
Design, write, and execute manual test plans and test cases
Perform manual functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, and sanity testing
Conduct exploratory testing to identify defects and usability issues
Implement and maintain test automation frameworks including Page Object Model, TestNG/JUnit, and Cucumber BDD
Execute automated tests, analyze results, and identify defects
Work with development teams to resolve defects
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps
Conduct API testing using Postman or Swagger
Perform database validation with SQL queries
Participate in code reviews of test automation scripts
Report test progress, defect status, and product quality to stakeholders
Research and implement testing tools, technologies, and methodologies
Improve software quality processes and practices within the team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
6 to 9 years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on test automation
Proficiency designing and developing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver
Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language, such as Java, Python, or C#
Experience with test automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Pytest, NUnit, or similar
Practical experience with the Page Object Model design pattern
Experience designing, writing, and executing manual test plans and test cases
Experience with manual functional, integration, system, and regression testing
Experience conducting exploratory testing
Familiarity with Git and version control systems
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of SQL for database validation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment
Preferred: experience with Cucumber/BDD, performance testing tools, security testing, cloud platforms, containerization, mobile application test automation, and relevant QA/test automation certifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred
ISTQB or similar industry certifications are a plus
