Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and testable Java/J2EE applications and microservices
Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-documented object-oriented code using SOLID design patterns
Design and implement RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and event-driven messaging systems
Optimize application performance, throughput, latency, and memory utilization
Participate in architectural discussions and system design reviews
Integrate backend services with relational and NoSQL databases
Integrate enterprise systems with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ
Integrate third-party APIs and microservice ecosystems
Implement automated unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers
Participate in peer code reviews and uphold engineering, security, and quality standards
Identify bottlenecks, address bugs, and remediate security vulnerabilities
Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
Package and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift
Monitor application health and system performance using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk
Collaborate with product managers, architects, UI/UX designers, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong proficiency in Java 11 / 17 / 21 and Core Java concepts, including multithreading, concurrency, collections, generics, and Stream API
Hands-on experience with Spring Framework ecosystem: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud
Solid understanding of relational database design, SQL indexing, and query optimization using PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL
Experience with ORM tools including Hibernate, JPA, or MyBatis
Experience designing, securing, and implementing RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger and microservices architecture
Experience with message queues and event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
Experience with Maven or Gradle
Proficiency with Git and modern branching workflows such as Gitflow or trunk-based development
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of professional software development experience in Java-based environments for mid-level roles, or 5+ years for senior-level roles
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and algorithmic thinking capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis is a plus
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is preferred
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift is preferred
Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and static analysis tools such as SonarQube or Checkmarx is preferred
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira or Confluence is preferred
Knowledge of reactive programming is an advantage
Mobile and Web Development experience with Angular, Java, and Python is preferred
