About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect, develop, and lead core banking integration strategies and a modern microservices ecosystem
- Lead and mentor developers, backend engineers, and integration specialists
- Own technical delivery across complex integration initiatives, including architectural scoping, work breakdown, sprint estimation, resource planning, and milestone prioritization
- Conduct code reviews, pull request audits, and architectural design reviews
- Collaborate with business lines, enterprise architecture, database administrators, infrastructure, Information Security, and third-party vendors
- Serve as subject matter expert for escalations, production incident triage, and root-cause analysis
- Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies and predictable delivery
- Architect, build, and deploy containerized Java microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and RESTful/gRPC APIs
- Design database models and persistence layers, tune queries, optimize indexes, and resolve connection-pool and row-locking issues
- Design high-availability, fault-tolerant integration solutions with disaster recovery and minimal business disruption
- Lead modernization from TIBCO BusinessWorks and IBM MQ to Apache Kafka and cloud-native Java microservices
- Integrate banking systems supporting fraud detection, payment rails, clearing and settlement, and enterprise ledgers
- Ensure compliance with security baselines, audit controls, financial regulations, data-protection rules, certificate management, and operational resilience standards
- Oversee high-volume real-time messaging, throughput tuning, dead-letter queues, and sub-second SLA routing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced proficiency in Core Java (Java 11/17/21), multithreading, concurrency, and JVM tuning
- Hands-on mastery of Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Batch
- Deep experience with microservices patterns, including Saga, CQRS, circuit breakers, and API Gateway routing
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
- Advanced expertise in Oracle 19c+, SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers
- Expertise in query performance tuning, execution-plan analysis, index design, partitioning, and statistics gathering
- Mastery of HikariCP, lock contention mitigation, deadlock resolution, and transaction isolation levels
- Understanding of Hibernate and JPA, including ORM antipattern mitigation
- Subject matter expertise in TIBCO BusinessWorks, TIBCO EMS, and TIBCO Administrator/TEA
- Experience with IBM MQ and Apache Kafka
- Experience with REST, OpenAPI/Swagger, SOAP, gRPC, JSON, XML, XSD, WSDL, XPath, XSLT, and canonical data modeling
- Knowledge of SSL/TLS, mTLS, PKI, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and API key/token management
- Experience with Git, Maven, Gradle, Harness, TeamCity, Jenkins, and uDeploy
- Experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Micrometer, and distributed tracing
- Experience with TDD, BDD, JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, Spring Boot Test, Pact, Spring Cloud Contract, JMeter, Gatling, SonarQube, and Checkstyle
- Deep expertise in banking and financial services integration architecture
- Experience with fraud detection, payment processing rails, core ledger accounting, and trade/transaction processing systems
- Knowledge of transactional flows, STP, exactly-once delivery, idempotency, and high-volume messaging resilience
- Familiarity with banking regulations, audit readiness, operational resilience, and data protection frameworks
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end technical delivery, architectural roadmapping, scope definition, backlog grooming, estimation, and prioritization
- Strong stakeholder management, technical communication, presentation, Agile, Scrum/Kanban, sprint planning, and release governance skills
