About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the European Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Corporate Banking team covering top tier financial institutions, including banks and broker-dealers, insurance and reinsurance, asset managers, private equity and alternative investment funds, specialty finance, FinTechs, and market infrastructure
  • Lead a senior team across all major countries in Europe
  • Define a holistic business strategy for the European FIG Corporate Banking business
  • Create shared objectives and approaches with products and risk management to maximise sustained business growth
  • Manage a diverse, multi-country, multi-product business
  • Work with Independent Risk to manage portfolio and individual client risk and achieve targeted risk-adjusted returns
  • Originate business opportunities leveraging the entire product portfolio
  • Work with product partners across Markets, Investment Banking, Services and the Private Bank to structure viable, replicable, cost-effective and scalable client solutions
  • Balance internal management responsibilities with external client engagement
  • Develop industry/segment specialization and drive thought leadership and content
  • Represent the Bank and FIG franchise at public forums as speaker and subject matter expert

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of relevant Financial Institutions Group experience
  • In-depth experience managing and working across a diverse, multi-country, multi-product business
  • Broad people management experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements
  • Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Senior Credit Officer or equivalent designation preferred
  • Master's/MBA degree preferred from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program
  • This role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015
