About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work on strategic initiatives for Citi FX Technology’s FX trade processing platform
  • Support modernization of the FX trade processing platform
  • Build and integrate trade feed, reconciliation, and control components for migration to the strategic risk platform
  • Support adoption of internal and external cloud solutions
  • Improve automated testing and reduce manual environment-management work
  • Reduce regression testing duration and enable parallel testing across projects
  • Support automation of established legacy technology to facilitate migration to strategic platforms
  • Champion best practices across the FX developer community
  • Coach junior team members and analysts
  • Resolve high-impact problems and projects through evaluation of complex business and system processes and industry standards
  • Provide Java development expertise and ensure application design follows the architecture blueprint
  • Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • Analyze issues and develop innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with FX Technology subject-matter experts on practical best-practice standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in Java development
  • Strong core Java experience
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and OAuth
  • Thorough knowledge of clean code practices and test-driven development
  • Experience with Gradle and Maven
  • Solid Linux/Unix skills
  • Experience with Jenkins or TeamCity
  • Knowledge of Apache Kafka is an advantage
  • Knowledge of OpenShift is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Docker is an advantage
  • Observability exposure, including Grafana and OpenTelemetry
  • Experience with scaling and orchestration frameworks such as Conductor and Temporal is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
