About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Consult with customers about their financial situation, objectives, lending needs, and home ownership goals
  • Collect and analyze customers' financial information, goals, risk tolerance, income, assets, debts, cash flow, and credit history
  • Assess whether customers and properties may qualify for lending solutions
  • Recommend lending solutions and advise customers about their risks and benefits
  • Promote Citi and its financial services to customers, real estate agencies, builders, and other referral sources
  • Visit customers outside Citi offices
  • Collaborate with internal partners to support and grow customers
  • Refer customers to appropriate Citi professionals for non-lending services
  • Partner with Operations teams to transfer loan applications and provide required documents and information
  • Work with Processors, Closers, and customers to ensure timely loan closing
  • Develop referral relationships with Realtors, CPAs, builders, and other partners to drive mortgage business
  • Assess risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, bank teams, wealth advisors, and support teams to drive mortgage lending, deposits, and investments
  • Introduce Citi Wealth Teams to self-sourced clients and collaborate on strategic client acquisition plans
  • Monitor local marketplace trends and industry regulations, expand professional networks, and represent Citi at industry events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Residential Mortgage experience required
  • 1+ year previous sales, credit and/or finance experience required
  • Proven product sales capability required
  • FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives
  • Ability to communicate with customers about the documents and information needed to obtain a particular loan
  • Knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong relationship development and management skills
  • Expertise in general lending products and the overall mortgage industry
  • Must register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry and obtain a unique identifier before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
