About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead hands-on implementation and architecture of Python frameworks for scalable, resilient, and performant applications
- Develop solutions according to architectural standards using technical and business domain knowledge
- Enforce SDLC best practices and contribute to code quality through reviews
- Collaborate with Risk, Quants, Front Office, DevOps, and Production Support teams
- Drive development for Stress Testing and Regulatory Risk projects in the Market Risk domain
- Manage technical aspects of projects, including planning, governance, and ownership of initiatives
- Deliver high-quality solutions independently within a globally matrixed environment and under tight deadlines
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Application Development, primarily with Python
- Expert-level Python 3.x proficiency
- Advanced knowledge of FastAPI, Django, Flask, OOP, and design patterns
- Understanding of software architecture and distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven architecture
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, and advanced SQL
- Expertise designing, developing, and securing RESTful APIs and integration patterns
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and Bitbucket Pipelines
- Highly experienced with Unix-based operating systems
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization for distributed systems
- Proficiency with Pytest, unittest, and TDD methodologies
- Understanding of secure coding and OWASP Top 10
- Expertise with Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, branching, and pull request workflows
- Experience developing quantitative/calculation-intensive Python solutions
- Understanding and exposure to risk methodologies
- Exposure to mathematical modeling and finance insights
- Exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn
- Practical experience with Copilot, Devin, Claude, Gemini, or GPT
- Experience with Agentic AI tools, writing Agents and Skills, and contributing to Agentic frameworks
- Understanding and practical application of Generative AI concepts
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Desirable: Java, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, data warehousing, React, Angular, Vue.js, cloud or industry certifications, banking domain experience, CFA/FRM certification
