About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to understand project requirements and define comprehensive test strategies
Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver in Java
Design, write, and execute detailed manual test plans and test cases
Perform manual functional, integration, system, and regression testing
Conduct exploratory testing to uncover defects and usability issues
Implement and maintain test automation frameworks including Page Object Model, TestNG/JUnit, and Cucumber BDD
Execute automated tests, analyze results, identify defects, and work with development teams on resolution
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing
Conduct API testing using Postman or Swagger
Perform database validation using SQL queries
Participate in code reviews of test automation scripts
Report test progress, defect status, and overall product quality to stakeholders
Research and implement testing tools, technologies, and methodologies
Contribute to improving software quality processes and practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on test automation
Proficient in designing and developing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver
Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., Java, Python, C#)
Experience with test automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Pytest, NUnit, or similar
Solid understanding and practical experience with the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern
Experience with manual test plans, test cases, and functional, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of SQL for database validation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment
Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber is preferred
Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is preferred
Experience with security testing concepts and tools is preferred
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred
Understanding of Docker or Kubernetes is preferred
Relevant QA or test automation certifications are preferred
Experience with mobile application test automation is preferred
ISTQB or similar industry certification is a plus
