About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and implement application systems supporting core business operations within Technology
- Build and implement new or enhanced backend application systems from feasibility studies through time and cost estimates
- Lead the full development lifecycle, including analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation
- Provide operational support to business users
- Analyze complex problems and evaluate business processes and industry-standard alignment
- Design and recommend security enhancements based on post-implementation reviews
- Advise users, clients, and technology teams on technical challenges and recommend programming solutions
- Define technical standards and operating procedures for application development
- Mentor junior developers and analysts
- Evaluate risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 to 8 years of experience in systems analysis and software application development
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and PyCharm
- Working knowledge of SQL and database management
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot and agent-based integrations
- Experience managing and delivering technology projects
- Practical knowledge of project management methods
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting deadlines, new tools, and changing requirements
- Advanced English proficiency
- Experience with microservices development and API integration
- Familiarity with Citi's technology environment
