About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish and implement new or revised application system designs and programs in coordination with the Technology team
  • Lead application systems analysis, design, and programming activities
  • Manage a team driving engineering activities, including design, acquisition, and deployment of hardware, software, and network infrastructure
  • Provide expertise in applications design/architecture and programming while ensuring adherence to the overall architecture blueprint
  • Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • Guide the team in establishing design standards and improving development workflow and product rollout efficiency
  • Take ownership of production release planning and execution
  • Oversee software quality and system modifications
  • Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
  • Analyze existing operations to identify risks and redundancies
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop solutions
  • Liaise with team members and management to ensure projects meet application development and governance standards
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments
  • Resolve high-impact problems and projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business and system processes and industry standards
  • Assess risk in business decisions and drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development role with hand on coding
  • Must have domain knowledge of OTC Margining
  • Understanding of Risks (Greeks), risk calculation models like VaR/SIMM and ability to work with Quant team on risk model integration
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in designing complex and distrusted systems
  • In depth knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, Distributed Cache/Systems (e.g. Apache Ignite)
  • Hands on experience with developing code using Co-pilot or similar tools
  • Hands on experience on relational databases like Oracle
  • Great exposure to microservices architecture
  • API first design thinking and implementation using Rest, websocket and gRPC
  • Experience with building applications on cloud platform such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
  • Proven implementation of design pattern and enterprise level architecture
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • A completed Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • UI tech stack knowledge will be an advantage
  • Experience with designing and developing ML/GenAI solutions will be an advantage
  • Repo & TBA Margining Knowledge will be an advantage
