About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute and drive results on large-scale efforts or multiple smaller efforts
Serve as development lead for medium and large projects
Apply application development methodologies and standards for analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
Support end-user consultation to identify system function specifications and incorporate them into system design and delivery
Use comprehensive knowledge of multiple technology areas to achieve technological objectives
Analyze technical and business risks and impacts
Communicate risks to business owners for informed decisions
Provide architectural guidance during preplanning and ensure principles and best practices are followed
Evaluate Digital roadmaps and impacts to upcoming journeys
Publish design review extensions and documented guidance aligned to sprint plans and timelines
Participate in the design review board and share best practices across the organization
Publish design patterns across lines of business and domain commonalities
Drive design reviews for Next Gen Architecture and Plan of Record projects
Participate in microservices and NGA code reviews
Mentor and coach SDEs and their teams
Provide long-term perspectives for business and technology choices and vet architecture
Direct teams on developing and delivering efficient systems
Develop long-term strategies influencing development processes and standards
Provide architectural guidance aligned with CTO guidelines and platform
Drive strategy and teams toward expected results
Facilitate stakeholder discussions and trade-off decisions
Identify and remove blockers
Create delivery plans and resolve dependencies between agile and waterfall efforts
Apply engineering best practices to the software development lifecycle
Track and communicate metrics on design reviews, code reviews, CI/CD, and design-pattern adoption
Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, and mitigate issues and risks
Implement continuous improvement and introduce new technology
Assess risk and drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of relevant experience in software or application development, or equivalent senior-level experience in an enterprise architecture role with deep subject matter expertise
Proven expertise across cloud platforms such as AWS, PCF, and Akamai
Advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and networking
Experience automating code quality checks, performance testing, and build processes within CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of financial industry technology practices and modern architecture approaches, including cloud-native and microservices patterns
Bachelor’s/University degree required
Master’s degree preferred
