About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage daily operations of the Cyber Defense Operations Center
- Ensure 24/7 monitoring and response to security incidents
- Develop and implement strategies to improve CDOC effectiveness and efficiency
- Oversee identification, analysis, and response to cybersecurity incidents
- Lead incident response efforts to mitigate threats, minimize impact, and ensure swift recovery
- Manage and optimize cybersecurity tools and technologies
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing cybersecurity team
- Provide training and professional development opportunities
- Collaborate with IT, Business Continuity, risk management, legal, and other cross-functional teams
- Communicate cybersecurity operations and incident updates to executive leadership
- Manage Cyber Security contributions to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
- Evaluate and test cybersecurity controls for applications
- Develop, enforce, and maintain security policies, procedures, measures, and mechanisms
- Support system-wide programs, policies, and procedures for compliance with federal and state laws and agency regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field; 3 years of additional experience may substitute for the minimum education requirement
- Five (5) years of experience in information security in a large healthcare provider environment
- Three (3) years of experience leading and managing a Cyber Defense Operations Center or similar information security operations team
- Minimum span of control of at least eight members
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, threat intelligence, and incident response best practices
- Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence platforms
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are highly desirable
- Master's degree preferred
- Ability to work remotely within the United States
