About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Arrange, conduct, and maintain documentation for drug screenings
- Greet clients, collect testing forms, and accompany them to the drug testing area
- Obtain urine specimens from probationers, record and report results using approved testing methodologies
- Store testing samples securely and maintain chain-of-custody procedures
- Maintain drug testing supplies and equipment inventory
- Report and document testing results
- Ensure documentation procedures comply with policies and procedures
- Testify in court
- Provide training on testing-result documentation
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level
- Test primarily in Falls City and Pawnee City, with possible travel to other district locations
- Be ready to begin testing by 5 a.m.; non-traditional hours may be required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education
- The Judicial Branch does not sponsor STEM (form I-983) or non-immigrant work visas for this position
- Knowledge of drug screening and chemical testing methodology
- Knowledge of safe work methods and procedures
- Knowledge of applicable testing equipment
- Knowledge of recordkeeping principles
- Knowledge of basic inventory management principles
- Knowledge of computers and related software applications
- Prior substance abuse or chemical testing training and experience working with the offender population preferred
- Ability to perform drug screening
- Ability to collect applicable samples
- Ability to maintain specimen records
- Ability to monitor inventory and supply levels
- Ability to maintain operational records
- Ability to use a computer and related software applications
- Ability to utilize communication and interpersonal skills to exchange or convey information and receive work direction
- Ability to work in challenging environmental conditions and around hazardous materials
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
