About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Generate new commercial building service opportunities within an assigned territory.
  • Identify prospective clients through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and in-person or foot canvassing.
  • Build relationships with property managers, construction companies, facility managers, business owners, and key industry contacts.
  • Identify client needs and recommend appropriate City Wide services.
  • Conduct onsite building surveys and assessments.
  • Develop and present customized proposals.
  • Build rapport, overcome objections, negotiate, and close new business.
  • Respond to incoming requests for information.
  • Maintain knowledge of the commercial building maintenance industry, competitive landscape, services, and pricing.
  • Develop opportunities for commercial building and specialty services.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure proposed services can be delivered.
  • Identify and recruit potential independent contractors and assist with onboarding.
  • Coordinate new opportunities and service needs with Sales and Operations.
  • Help ensure resources are available to launch new business.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, prospects, coworkers, leadership, and independent contractors.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity information in the CRM.
  • Document prospect interactions, sales activities, proposals, and follow-up.
  • Manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, sales strategies, and confidential information.
  • Communicate regularly with Sales and Operations leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent outside sales experience.
  • B2B outside sales experience preferred.
  • Experience prospecting for new business through cold calling, networking, or in-person outreach.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with prospects and influence decision-makers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with strong judgment and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, margins, and pricing components accurately.
  • Ability to prepare professional reports, correspondence, proposals, and presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, email, and other business technology.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Sales and Operations.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of personalities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude when working with clients, prospects, contractors, and coworkers.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout an assigned territory.
  • Regular travel throughout the assigned territory is required.
  • Ability to work in varied commercial environments and conditions, including varying temperature, air quality, noise levels, and working conditions.
