About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver expert pension administration services for a portfolio of payroll customers
- Report to the Pensions Manager
- Own pension-related activities throughout the payroll cycle
- Maintain payroll bureau procedures and customer-specific processing documentation
- Manage day-to-day pension and payroll-related queries within agreed service levels
- Calculate employee and employer pension contributions and make required adjustments
- Prepare and submit statutory pension returns
- Complete pension-related year-end activities and earlier year updates
- Ensure compliance with pensions legislation, guidance, and best practice
- Support implementation of new customers and changes to existing pension schemes
- Build strong customer relationships through regular communication and service delivery
- Assist with external audits and compliance checks
- Support testing activities for system upgrades and service improvements
- Provide cover for colleagues during annual leave or absence
- Support customer contact lines and contribute to ad-hoc customer projects
- Maintain confidentiality and data security
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in payroll and pensions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems
- Ability to calculate employee and employer pension contributions
- Knowledge of pensions legislation, guidance, and best practice
- Ability to prepare and submit statutory pension returns
- Ability to complete pension-related year-end activities and earlier year updates
- Ability to support implementation of new customers and changes to existing pension schemes
- Ability to assist with external audits and compliance checks
- Ability to support testing for system upgrades and service improvements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security in line with legal and company requirements
- Ability to deliver accurate outcomes and exceptional customer service
