About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide nursing students through hands-on clinical experiences in local healthcare settings
- Connect real-world nursing practice to students' coursework
- Coach and mentor students as they develop clinical skills, judgment, communication, and confidence
- Observe student performance and provide feedback and evaluation
- Identify opportunities for additional support and help students develop through coaching and remediation
- Collaborate with Joyce faculty and staff to support a consistent, student-centered learning experience
- Stay current in nursing practice and bring current clinical knowledge into teaching
- Participate in selected university activities, including faculty meetings, pinning ceremonies, and graduation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Oregon
- Master's degree in Nursing
- 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience
- Previous teaching, precepting, mentoring, or clinical education experience preferred
- Ability to mentor students and provide coaching, feedback, evaluation, and remediation
- Ability to maintain current nursing practice and clinical knowledge
